One could easily say that comedian, Dave Chappelle is a smart business man that happens to be funny while at it. This, in part, due to his turning down a reported $50 million plus from Comedy Central some years ago, only to return and claim almost 6 times that from Netflix with just 3 shows. However, Chappelle has a bit more going on these days to stake the claim of intelligence. Even genius level while we’re at it.
In the middle of the smoke that’s kicking up, as well as, a bi-product of the civil unrest that’s burning in America, resulting from racism, injustice, police brutality and inequality, Chappelle stood front and center (of a comedy club stage, of course) and delivered an incredible monologue regarding the pains that Black America is faced with right now. And it wasn’t funny at all. It was needed. It was genius. It was proof that Dave Chappelle is necessary. The special was filmed on June 6 on an outdoor stage in Beavercreek, Ohio, with a socially distanced audience wearing Chappelle-branded masks…. Check out the 26+ minute show below:
